Silk was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. Ilkay Silk is the daughter Peter Silk, a professor as well as Anna Silk who is an actress, director, producer, playwright. Anna is awed by her mother's job and attending play rehearsals. Silk made several commercials while she was still a kid.
