Lita Rossana Ford often referred to as Lita Ford is a British-born American singer-songwriter, guitarist and vocalist who played lead guitar in the all-girl hard rock group The Runaways in the late 1970s.Their music and their rebellious lyrics allowed them to be noticed within the world of rock. The group did not have an enormous following within The United States. However, the group's popularity increased abroad, particularly in Japan. Ford began a solo heavy metal career after the disbandment of her band in 1979. She took vocal lessons and then released her debut solo album 'Out for Blood and 'Dancin' On the Edge. Ford did not achieve any success with either record and disappeared from the world of rock for around 10 years. She returned with a bang in 1988 with her wildly successful album , 'Lita' which came out in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever both became big hits. However, her popularity was not long-lasting and she disappeared from the industry for several years. Her re-emergence was with the release of "Black" which came out in 1995, and "Wicked Wonderland" nearly 15 years after. In 2016, she released her latest album of studio work "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
